10+ Years Designing Successful Products and Experiences

I contributed to Clearly’s rapid growth leading up to its acquisition by Essilor, helped launch products used by thousands of marketers at Unbounce, guided the design team through 7Geese’s acquisition by Paycor, and led the redesign of the most-used feature at Lillio.

In 2024, I stepped away to launch my freelance practice, taking on B2B clients in enterprise and e-commerce while working on my own projects.

Designing with User Empathy while Keeping Business Goals in Mind

Empathy Above All

I lead with empathy while keeping business goals top of mind. That covers both the people I'm designing for and the team I'm working with. Everyone has something to bring to the table.

Everyone's Part of the Design Process

I believe in education through collaboration. Teamwork opens up more perspectives. The best ideas come from the most unexpected places. That's a shaka by the way.

Start with the Future

When I travelled to Japan, I learned about backcasting — a form of planning where you start with the most ideal outcome and work backwards. To solve complex problems, you define where you want to end up before deciding how to get there.

Form and Function are One

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's philosophy of unified space. In product development, if the solution is too complex, either we simplify or we sequence across releases. Design and development should always work together to deliver value for the user.

Emotions will Outlive Pixels

People remember the feeling more than the detail. Technical design knowledge matters, but understanding who I'm designing for is more important. Even the simplest solution can have the biggest impact on someone's life.
